Ever wondered what happens inside a GPS tracker? Here is a simple breakdown of how GPS vehicle tracking works — from satellite to your screen.

Step 1: The GPS Module Receives Satellite Signals

Your vehicle's tracker contains a GPS chip that picks up signals from GPS satellites orbiting the Earth. By calculating the time signals take to arrive from multiple satellites, the device pinpoints your vehicle's exact coordinates.

Step 2: The Device Sends Data Over Mobile Network

The GPS coordinates are transmitted to our servers via the mobile network (Jazz, Zong, Ufone or Telenor). TrackVee devices automatically switch to the strongest available network for uninterrupted coverage.

Step 3: Our Servers Process and Store the Data

TrackVee's cloud servers receive the location updates every few seconds, store them securely, and make them available through our web platform and mobile app.

Step 4: You See It Live on Your Dashboard

Open TrackVee on your phone or computer and you see all your vehicles on an interactive map — live. You can also replay any past trip, see stops, speed and route history.

What About Areas with No Signal?

TrackVee devices store data locally when connectivity is lost and sync automatically once signal returns. No location data is ever lost.
